Edgewood Valley is known for its outstanding 18-hole golf course, a traditional park-land style course designed by William H. Diddel in 1925. Diddel was a charter member and president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and was considered a master at golf course routing. His design philosophy was firmly rooted in taking advantage of the natural terrain and obstacles provided - a philosophy well suited to the land provided by Edgewood Valley.

The golf course has been enhanced multiple times to retain the original features Diddel designed, but also to adapt to the modern game and turf standards. The natural terrain, tree-lined fairways, extensive bunkering and fast green speeds combine to make the course play much longer than the 6,850 yards suggest. This was proven during the 2006 Illinois State Amateur, held at Edgewood Valley, when only a single player broke par for the entire tournament.

The course is constantly being groomed and maintained to provide the best possible golf experience for all skill levels. Edgewood Valley’s motto, “Golf for Golfers,” carries forward today, as the Club provides a golf course that is fun and challenging.
